Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Racing’s Ryan Dungey capped off the 2008 AMA Supercross Lites
season by not only winning the Dave Coombs Sr. East/West Shootout for the second year in a row,
but by also being honored with the Rising Star Award as well. In the Las Vegas season finale event,
Dungey finished second in his heat race and then came from behind to take the win in the 15-lap SX
Lites main. |

LAS VEGAS (May 3, 2008) – Team San Manuel Yamaha’s Chad Reed, of Tampa, Fla., won Monster Energy® Supercross, an FIM World Championship before 39,227 fans at a sold-out Sam Boyd Stadium. Reed, who won the 2004 AMA Supercross class championship, also won the main event. Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey, of Belle Plaine, Minn., won the Dave Coombs Sr. East/West Shootout in the AMA Supercross Lites class main event.

Yamaha of Troy’s Jason Lawrence, of Carlsbad, Calif., won the Western Regional AMA Supercross Lites class championship. Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey, of Belle Plaine, Minn., won the main event and finished second overall in the Western Regional AMA Supercross Lites class.
