The sun was out and beating down on the riders and fans this weekend at the seventh round of the AMA Toyota Motocross Championships at Budd's Creek. Although the weather was hot and the track was rough, it didn't stop the dominance of a couple of riders. Ryan Villopoto was able to win both motos in convincing fashion and James Stewart walked away with a 1-1 finish and continues to complete the perfect season. |

With three decades of AMA racing under Red Bud's belt, it was no surprise that the fans showed up in droves, even for Saturday practice. It was pandamonium throughout the Michigan-based facility and the racing kept the vocal crowd excited all day Sunday as Kawasaki continued its podium dominance with James Stewart and Ryan Villopoto adding to their respective winning streaks. |

Thunder Valley Motocross hosted the first-ever nighttime AMA Motocross National this weekend. Though the time of day was different, the results were not. Ryan Villopoto and James Stewart continued with their winning ways, sweeping the Motocross Lites and Motocross classes, convincingly.
MOTOCROSS LITES MOTO ONE With the sun setting behind the mountain that the Thunder Valley racetrack is carved out of, Villopoto swept across the track and snared the first holeshot of the evening. Chasing close behind were Suzuki's Nico Izzi, Austin Stroupe and Josh Grant, who was making his first appearance since his concussion at the Las Vegas SX. At the start of lap three, RV enjoyed a six-second lead over Izzi, Stroupe, Grant, Ryan Dungey and MDK KTM's Martin Davalos. |

The racing action moved back East this weekend for the fourth round of the AMA Toyota Motocross Championship series. The weekend at High Point Raceway started off a bit wet… On Saturday, the Lites riders were the only ones to see the track before a big thunderstorm made its presence known and cancelled the rest of the practice for the day. On Sunday, however, the weather was perfect, complete with blue skies and cool temperatures. As for the racing action on Fathers Day, Ryan Villopoto was able to sweep both motos in convincing fashion. However, the opening Lites moto provided a lot of action, passing, and a few surprises. |

After spending a couple of weeks under the sunny skies of Southern California, the 2008 AMA Toyota Motocross Nationals has begun their migration to the other side of the country. The third stop on the circuit was Freestone County Raceway, which is owned and operated by the Miller family. With the temperature well over 100 degrees throughout Sunday afternoon, it was survival of the fittest this weekend.
As the action in the Lites class got under way, it was once again another knock-down, drag-out battle between Monster Energy/Pro Circuit's Ryan Villopoto, teammate Austin Stroupe, and Rockstar/Makita/Suzuki's Ryan Dungey. RV2 had it easy in the opening moto as he grabbed the holeshot and never looked back, taking an easy win over Dungey and Stroupe. |

The AMA Motocross series headed north this weekend to Sacramento, where the Dirt Diggers North Motorcycle Club hosted the 40th annual Hangtown MX Classic under picture-perfect, sunny skies. The Motocross class turned out to be another James Stewart romp, as Stewart took off early in both motos to continue his thus-far flawless outdoor season with another 1-1. In the Lites class, Ryan Villopoto easily handled the competition, brining his moto win streak to three. |

Finally! The Outdoor Nationals are here! With Supercross but a memory, it was time to take the battle to the motocross tracks, and where better to start than the world-famous Glen Helen Raceway. With the weather as an ally, and not an inevitable discomfort, the pro riders of the AMA took to the Southern California track for the start of a sure-to-be-incredible season of motocross. With a gaggle of riders back from injury, everyone was as excited as middle-aged women at a Neil Diamond concert. So let's get to it… |

It all came down to this. For the better part of four months, the riders of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series have battled it out over 16 rounds in the chase for the coveted AMA number one plate. With both of the Lites Regional Series champions already crowned, Las Vegas not only served the final battle for Supercross supremacy, it also played host to the ultimate battle royale among the East and West coast Lites riders. It was all about bragging rights for the Lites, but the Supercross championship was on the line for San Manuel/L&M/Yamaha's Chad Reed and Geico Powersports Honda's (formerly Torco Racing Fuels Honda) Kevin Windham. |
