Motocross 338, Southwick This weekend, the AMA Toyota National Motocross Championships traveled to Southwick, Massachusetts for the third round of competition. The Motocross 338 facility celebrated 30 years of AMA Pro Racing on its grounds by hosting climactic battles in all four motos of racing. Of course, Southwick is known for its deep, beach-like sand, meaning that series rivals and fellow Floridians Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart would both enjoy a strong advantage over the rest of the field, thanks to years of sand riding experience. |

The rain stayed away for the second round of the AMA Toyota National Motocross Series at High Point Raceway in Mt. Morris, Pennsylvania, and the track turned out to be the complete polar opposite of the mud and slop that greeted riders a week ago in Hangtown. As for the action on the track, |

In spite of an afternoon storm that swept through the area and made an absolute mess of the Qwest Field track, 46,896 enthusiastic Supercross fans turned out for the penultimate round of the 2006 Amp'd Mobile Supercross Championship Series. On a track that started out as soft, loose dirt that was filled with rocks, gravel and even chunks of brick, Team Kawasaki's James Stewart slithered and slipped through the eventual muddy conditions aboard his Jeremy Albrecht-tuned KX450F and earned his seventh win of the season and drew within five points of the series championship with one round remaining. |

Sunny skies and temperatures in the 80s greeted the return of the West Coast Lites class to the AMA Supercross series after a long 10-week hiatus on Saturday in Irving, TX. When the sun set outside the infamous home of the Dallas Cowboys, the gate dropped inside to kick off some of the craziest racing we've seen all season. |

Houston's Reliant Stadium played host to the 13th round of AMA Supercross competition, and for the third week in a row the running order up front was identical, with James Stewart leading series rivals Ricky Carmichael and Chad Reed to the checkers by a healthy margin in the SX class main event.
The Houston race was also the seventh and final round of Eastern Division SX Lites racing, and Davi Millsaps came home the big winner by not only taking the individual race win in Texas, but also scoring the first professional AMA Championship of his career by winning the Eastern Division points race over Chris Gosselaar and Josh Grant, respectively. |

Detroit In front of a visibly sparse crowd, round 12 of the Amp'd Mobile AMA Supercross Series, round 13 of the Amp'd Mobile World Supercross Series, in the brand new Ford Field in Detroit, proved to be nearly a carbon copy of the weekend before in Orlando. As both Josh Grant and James Stewart put on riding clinics in the Supercross Lites and Supercross classes respectively. |
