MOUNT MORRIS, Pa. (June 12, 2008) -- Pennsylvania State House Majority Leader Bill DeWeese has been named Grand Marshal of this weekend''s 32nd Annual Kawasaki Monster Energy High Point National. The event, Round 4 of the 2008 AMA Toyota Motocross Championship presented by FMF, is being held at High Point Raceway.

Mr. DeWeese, from Waynesburg, Pa., will speak during the event''s opening ceremonies and also give the command for riders to start their engines.

"I''m pleased to be invited to be a part of this important racing event," said DeWeese. "This race has been a fixture in Greene County for more than three decades and has gained a very loyal following. It''s certain to a fun weekend."

"We''re privileged to have Mr. DeWeese join us at High Point this weekend," said Event Coordinator Tim Cotter. "With his background as an avid outdoorsman, adventurer and mountain climber, we know Bill will have a great time."

The 32nd Annual Kawasaki Monster Energy High Point National kicks off on Saturday. In addition to the excitement of the racing program, Saturday is jam packed with unique events for the fans to enjoy. GNCC-Style Motocross Country Racing, Rocket Rob’s Minibike Nationals, and a Parts Unlimited Vintage Bike Show highlight the day’s activities while the band Ten Man Push brings the action to a close with a live concert Saturday night. Sunday''s program will feature a full program of racing for America''s premier outdoor motocross championship.
