BREA, Calif., (July 1, 2008) – American Suzuki Motor Corp. (ASMC) congratulates the Rockstar
Suzuki amateur motocross team for dominating the recent Mammoth Mountain Motocross at
Mammoth Mountain, California. The pinnacle of the two-week event was Rockstar Suzuki’s Darryn
Durham sweeping all three Pro classes:
Open Pro and 450 Pro on the Rockstar Suzuki RM-Z450
and 250 Pro on the Rockstar Suzuki RM-Z250. By accomplishing this feat, Durham became only
the fourth racer ever to do so in the race’s 40-year history.
Additionally, Rockstar Suzuki’s veteran racer John Dowd absolutely ruled the Vet Weekend by
winning the 40-plus Expert and 30-plus Pro classes on his fuel-injected Rockstar Suzuki RM-Z450.
On top of that, Dowd captured eight out of eight potential holeshots on the RM-Z and was
crowned Champion in both classes.
“This was a great weekend for American Suzuki and the Rockstar Suzuki team,” said Pat Alexander,
ASMC Sports Promotions Manager. “Not only was it great to see our riders so dominant against
such impressive competition, it was amazing to see how the Rockstar Suzuki RM-Z450 excelled in
such conditions. Two weekends of racing, two Kings of Mammoth, it’s great to see Suzuki’s RMZ450
go undefeated like that.”
Suzuki also held sway in the smaller-displacement classes, with Eli Tomac taking the win in the
Supermini class and Jake Riggle and Conner Pearson finishing first and second, respectively, in the
85cc 7 – 11 class.
