Fans Choose Blake Williams as Winner for 360 Nac Nac in Competition at Tour''s Panasonic Open
NEW YORK - July 15, 2008 - The AST Dew Tour, the world''s premier season-long action sports tour, today announced the winner of the PlayStation® Pro Moment Award from the Panasonic Open. Voting began on Monday, June 23, the day after competitions ended. Fans could view the videos at AST.com or on V CAST Videos from Verizon Wireless and vote online at www.AST.com or via text on Verizon Wireless until Monday, July 11.
Fans selected Blake Williams as the PlayStation® Pro Moment winner after he performed a 360 knack knack in competition during the freestyle motocross Finals. Williams won the FMX competition.
"I''m really excited to come away with not only the win from the Panasonic Open, but also the winner of the PlayStation Pro Moment," said Williams. "The 360 is a gnarly trick that not many riders attempt, so to complete that trick with other combos at the Dew Tour was awesome."
Williams faced stiff competition for the PlayStation® Pro Moment Award. Other Pro Moment nominees included:
· Ryan Nyquist (BMX Dirt), landed an impressive Double Barspin 720 during Finals and was rewarded with first-place on the podium.
· Chad Kagy (BMX Vert), completed an opposite flair whip, which helped secure his second-place finish.
· Paul Rodriguez (Skateboard Park), performed a crooked grind nollie flip out in his second-place run in the Finals.
· Bucky Lasek (Skateboard Vert), secured the victory with a boneless frontside rodeo 540 mixed into a stellar performance on the vert ramp.
· Daniel Dhers (BMX Park), rose from 11th place to win the Finals with a no-handed, corked out 720 in his final run.
· Blake Williams (FMX), defeated defending champion Nate Adams with an impressive 360 Nac Nac in his winning run.
Williams wins $5,000, a PLAYSTATION®3 and a library of games to reward his skills. Online polls open on the Monday following each event.
Further, Williams will select his favorite amateur trick from the PlayStation Rising Stars presented by Woodward. The talented amateur selected will win a PSP® and library of games. But that''s not all; their video will also be displayed next to the pro''s at AST.com and on the PlayStation Network.
