TEMECULA, CA- (July 28, 2008)- Yamaha/Jayco/Etnies/Red Bull/FMF/Answer Racing''s Tarah Gieger rode to an impressive third place overall this past weekend at the fourth round of the AMA/WMA Women’s National Motocross Championship presented by Kawasaki.
In the first moto at Washougal, the number 68 brought her blue bike to the checkers in fifth place. In the second moto, she followed championship defender, Jessica Patterson, and current points leader, Ashley Fiolek to the finish and rounded out the podium for third.
With the last two rounds coming up at the end of August, Gieger has a small break to really get things put together and end the season with strong rides at both Southwick and Steel City.
Gieger has been putting in the practice and the heart that it takes, but has not had the best of luck this season. However, just over the halfway point through the series she sits fourth in points.
Tarah would like to thank her family, all of her sponsors, and of course her fans for the support that she has received from everyone throughout. |
